We have been to several churches around the country, some very large and some very small. Most of the large churches have some form of streaming media already in place. Some have all services and some have teachings. I receive e-mail newsletters from various churches, some everyday and some weekly. On the other side is the smaller churches. I get to visit on Sunday with the pastor and other key people but after that, I wait for next Sunday. I asked several small churches why they did not have a website and why they did not webcast their services. The response was generally the same, money. Money was the number one answer. I began to research this and even talked to some of the media people in the church. I found that 90% of them had information from years ago when streaming online was a new thing and it was very expensive. Most gave me this big list of all the things that they would need and how much each part cost. I have to say that ,yes webcasting WAS a lot of money at one time. Now webcasting is not much money at all. In fact, streaming on the net can be done no matter what your budget is. Most churches already have everything it take to start this Sunday. The churches simply don’t know they have what it takes.
When it come to the service you use to stream, I have some available here. http://www.comf5.com/helps. They have packages from $10.00 a month. There are some free services out their like ustream.com but I have to warn you, the “free” services are not ad free. And you have little or no control on the material advertised. I would encourage you to try the ComF5. There is no contract to join so you don’t like it, just cancel.
After I finish telling the media team and pastor about this and how easy it is the live stream I always get a big thank you. Most say, “I never knew that it was so easy and affordable to get my message out to the entire world”. Sometimes, they ask me to dinner to talk more and my response is, ” Your dinner for just this meal will be more than one month of webcasting.” Think of how many souls will be touched by your message. The church members can now go back and watch an archived service and get a better understanding of your message.
